Information Technology (IT) Expert from Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), Ika Atwan Satya appreciated the free internet access for all or JakWIFI program launched by Jakarta Government on August 28, 2020.

It is necessary to limit number of network users at each WiFi access point

He assessed, internet access becomes very important for Jakarta residents during the pandemic and Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB), especially students who need to conduct distance learning and small medium enterprises (UKM) in selling their products online.

"Jakarta Government's action in facilitating free internet access for residents should be appreciated," he conveyed, Thursday (9/3).

He, who has experience in managing network infrastructure at LIPI headquarter and regional, suggested city to improve JakWIFI's bandwidth thus residents can use the facility more comfortably.

"It is necessary to limit number of network users at each WiFi access point thus the quality of internet connection can remain stable," he stated.
