Unlicensed Traditional Clinics in E. Jakarta will Be Closed Down

In the near future, the East Jakarta Health Sub-Department is scheduled to close down the unlicensed traditional clinics in East Jakarta. Moreover, many of them put up a misleading advertisement to attract patients come for treatment.

If we neglect this condition, it will lead to social unrest

 

Based on the data, there are thousands of traditional clinics in East Jakarta, but only 141 of them which have been registered. It can be observed in every corner of the area until small alleys.

"If we neglect this condition, it will lead to social unrest," stressed Head of Healthcare Service Division for East Jakarta Health Sub-Department, Indra, Thursday (10/16).

 

Indra explained, besides not having license, majority of traditional clinics have put up misleading advertisement, like they able to treat chronic diseases that cannot be handled by medical science, such as HIV/AIDS or cancer.

 

"Certainly, we have to do laboratory test first if we want to treat chronic diseases," he expressed.

 

That's why, his sub-department would conduct data collection and continued with further warn against unlicensed clinics.

 

Additionally, he furthered, in treating patients, those are also required to use quality and sterile medical equipments. "But don't use traditional techniques, such as frankincense, saliva, using the tongue or embers," he asserted.
