Transjakarta Provides Transparent Masks and Portable Sinks for People with Disabilities

Commemorating the National Transportation Day (Harhubnas), PT. Transjakarta provides special services for people with disabilities.

Our purpose is to facilitate our customers, especially those with disabilities, in using Transjakarta services

PT. Transjakarta Service and Development Director, Achmad Izzul Waro stated, in commemorating Harhubnas on Thursday (9/17), his side prepared 1,000 transparent masks for customers with disabilities to make it easier for them to communicate. According to plan, those special masks will be provided in all disabled-friendly Transjakarta bus shelters.

Moreover, PT. Transjakarta also installed portable hand washing facilities in 100 bus shelters which focused on disabled-friendly Transjakarta bus shelters.

"Similar to mask, the portable sinks is made to facilitate people with disabilities to wash their hands," he conveyed in his written statement, Thursday (9/17).

According to him, the sink's position is lowered, making it easier for wheelchair users to use the portable sink. For initial phase, this portable sink is available at four Transjakarta bus shelters, namely Sunan Giri Bus Shelter, East Jakarta Mayor Bus Shelter, Kramat Jati Market Bus Shelter, and Islamic Hospital Bus Shelter.

Besides special mask and portable sinks, PT. Transjakarta will also develop Passenger Information System (PIS) with sign language. At least, 247 PIS will be installed with sign language in the near future.

"Our purpose is to facilitate our customers, especially those with disabilities, in using Transjakarta services, especially during the pandemic. We want them to stay informed about the latest information from Transjakarta," he conveyed.
