Jalan Jenderal Sudirman - Jalan MH Thamrin Closed

After the inauguration of the Indonesian President and Vice President period 2014-2019 in the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) building, Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla will attend the People's Party in Monas, Central Jakarta, Monday (10/20).

Later on, President would ride a chariot from the HI Roundabout toward Monas

Therefore, the City Police began to sterilize access road to Monas from vehicles, starting from Jalan Jenderal Sudirman - HI Roundabout - Jalan MH Thamrin. It aims to give space for the motorcade of President and Vice President to the HI Roundabout.

"Later on, President would ride a chariot from the HI Roundabout toward Monas. So we start to close Jalan Sudirman and Jalan MH Thamrin," said Chief of City Police Public Relation, Sr. Comr. Rikwanto, Monday (20/10).

According to Sr. Comr. Rikwanto, part of traffic flow in Jakarta tends smoothly. All centered around the HI Roundabout - Monas. "About 3,000 mass have started crowding the HI Roundabout and its number will keep increasing in Monas," he reported.

Here is the schedule plan of the new Indonesian President and Vice President, as follow:

1. At 12.25-12.50 PM

- President and Vice President will arrive in the HI Roundabout and then ride a chariot toward the Presidential Palace

2. At 2.05-3.10 PM

- President and Vice President to attend the ceremony of welcoming military, conference video with three cities and continued with people's party in Monas

3. At 3.10-4.10 PM,

- President and Vice President will break in Wisma Nusantara

4. At 4.10-5.40 AM

- President and Vice President will go to Monas, take the stage, populist speech, praying together, cut the tumpeng (rice cone) for the people accompanied by drum, deliver a MURI certificate ,and watch music concert

5. At 5.40-7.10 PM

- Take a rest in the Presidential Palace

6. At 7.10-7.40

- Release lanterns simultaneously on the Monas

7. At 7.40-10.00 PM

- Return to the Monas, to attend the people's party

City Police Traffic Unit Director, Sr. Comr. Restru Mulya Budiyanto disclosed some roads will be rerouted, such as Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, Jalan Jendral Sudirman and Jalan MH Thamrin. It aims to smoothen people's party marked with a parade from the HI Roundabout toward Presidential Palace.

"For people who want to join in the event, please park the vehicle in the hotel or building, and ride public transport toward the event," he urged.
