President Inauguration, 24,815 TNI/Police Personnel Deployed

As many as 24,815 TNI/police personnel will be deployed to guard the capital city during the inauguration process of Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla as President and Vice President on upcoming October 20. Besides guarding MPR/DPR/DPD building on Jalan Gatot Subroto, Central Jakarta, those personnel will also standby around the State Palace, protocol streets where ministry offices located, economic centers, and other vital objects.

According to Cahyono, all on guard policemen are not equipped with gun fire because they only act as guarding officers. However, they will be equipped with teargas and water cannon.
