Becomes Governor, Basuki Prefers to Stay in His Private Home

Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama is soon to be inducted as Jakarta Governor. With his new position, Basuki automatically gets governor’s home office on Jalan Taman Surapati No. 7, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

I will not move because my children’s school is nearer from home

However, Basuki prefers to stay in his private home at Pantai Mutiara, Pluit Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-District, North Jakarta. One of the reasons that make him and his family opted to stay in private home is because his three children go to school closer from there.

“I will not move because my children’s school is nearer from home,” he stated, Monday (10/20).

According to Basuki, his home office will only be used to welcome and receive important guests or hold formal activities. Even, he allows former Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo, who is now Indonesia President, to stay there if he wished so.

“Or, make the home office as boarding home. Do you want to live there?” he joked to journalists.
