Ahok Asks KAI to Close Railroad Crossings

Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), asked PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) close all crossings railroad in the capital immediately.

So it must be closed," Ahok said, in his speech at the signing of cooperation agreement with the Directorate General of Railways Ministry of Transportation and PT KAI at City Hall, Wednesday (10/1).

Basuki also asked PT KAI to add the train carriages, so that more passengers could be transported as well.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of PT KAI, Ignatius Jonan, said his side keeps improving the service as good as possible.

"Thus, the safety and security of passengers are kept well. Related to the agreement between the city government and KAI for partial KAI lines built high-rise apartments and so on will be detailed more about the location, and the things that are commercial aspects," he said.
