Gerebek Lumpur in Tugu Selatan targets drains in residential areas
60 kg of plastic waste were successfully transported from Gerebek Lumpur activities in Tugu Selatan, Koja, North Jakarta, on Friday (10/2). The plastic waste was then used as savings in the Berkah Waste Bank.
Tugu Selatan Urban Village Head Sukamin explained that it was done in all RW areas in the morning until in the afternoon.

He expressed those plastic waste transported consisted of plastic bags, packaged food wrappers, drink glasses to used bottles. After being sorted and cleaned, plastic waste was weighed in the waste bank for economic value.
"Hopefully residents will sort plastic waste from home, thus it doesn't pollute the environment and trigger blockage of drains," he stated.
