PSBB, Disparekraf Imposes Sanction on 72 Business Places

Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) monitored 430 business places during the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) implementation from September 14-30, 2020. As many as 72 business places were sanctioned because violating the regulations.

Jakarta Disparekraf Monitoring Section Head, Iffan stated, business places which monitored were including restaurants, cafes, bars, billiards, hotel, coffee shop, karaoke, spa, discotheque, movie, golf, massage parlor, barber shop, gym, and family recreation areas.

In monitoring, his side gave sanctions to 72 business places because violating Gubernatorial Regulation No. 88/2020 concerning amendments to Gubernatorial Regulation No. 33/2020 on the Implementation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions in Handling COVID-19 in Jakarta.

"We stop the operation of 25 business places, consisting massage parlors, karaoke houses, and bars. Because they shouldn't operate during PSBB," he mentioned, Tuesday (10/6).

Meanwhile, the other 47 business places were sanctioned by closing their business temporarily because they provided dine-in service and didn't implement health protocols to prevent COVID-19.

"Most restaurants were sanctioned because providing dine-in service and not implementing health protocols. We close it temporarily for 1 x 24 hours," he stated.

With the issuance of Gubernatorial Regulation (Pergub) No. 79/2020 on Discipline and Health Protocols Enforcement as Efforts to Prevent and Control COVID-19, he continued, the Jakarta Disparekraf can impose sanction directly to the tourism businesses that violate PSBB regulations.

"The issuance of Pergub No. 79/2020 is very effective for us to monitor and control the tourism industry," he said.
