West Jakarta SDA Builds Retention Basins in Tegal Alur and Semanan

West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency builds retention basins (embung) in Tegal Alur and Semanan Urban Villages, on Tuesday (10/6).

Those retention basins are built to overcome inundation and flooding in the area

West Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Purwanti Suryandari stated, those two retention basins are belong to Jakarta Park and Urban Forest Agency.

Retention basin in Tegal Alur will be built with size 2,500 square meters on 4,000 square meters land which located on the back side of Tegal Alur Lokbin Public Housing.  

Construction of Wirajasa Retention Basin Reaches 30 Percent

This retention basin will have depth of 3 meters and expected to collect rain water, especially to hold the overflowing Semongol River and tidal flooding.

Meanwhile, retention basin in Semanan will be  built with size 3,000 square meters on 5,000 square meters land in Kampung Bulak RT 010/01 Semanan, at the back side of Pesakih Public Housing, to drain water to Mookevart River.

"Those retention basins are built to overcome inundation and flooding in the area," she explained.

Her side deployed one unit of excavator to build retention basin in Semanan and another one heavy equipment in Tegal Alur.

"We are targeting to finish construction of both retention basins in December," he closed.
