Illegal Buildings at Taman Honda Demolished

The South Jakarta Administration keeps managing the green open space in its area. One of the efforts is curbing 280 illegal buildings at Taman Honda on Jalan Tebet Timur Raya, Tebet Timur Urban Village, Tebet.

As much as 300 personnel from Satpol PP, Sub-dept. of Cemetery and Park, police, and army were deployed, including three heavy equipment and dozens of truck.

According to him, mostly people who lived there have no Jakarta ID card. "The demolished buildings were semi-permanent," he added.

Meanwhile, Head Section of Control for Jakarta Park and Cemetery Dept., Salim, admitted his side had three times demolishing the building at the scene. But, they came back.

"We'll deploy personnel to guard the area for 24 hours. Park fence will be also built there," Salim stated.

Sumarsono (52), one of scavengers, admitted he has no idea where to move since no money for renting a house.
