“We’re cooperating with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) in this operation. We hope all stations could be sterile from street vendors’ activities, so the passengers could feel more comfortable,” he said.

Apart in Sawah Besar Station, Sitorus continued, street vendors’ temporary location on Jalan Dwi Warna, Sawah Besar Urban Village, will also be demolished due to the permit is not extended.

“There are about 30 street vendors’ stalls there stood atop water channel. In early December, the location will be restored its function,” he told.

In addition, 85 ornamental fish kiosks on Jalan Kartini Raya will also be demolished in upcoming November. It is conducted because all of the vendors have been asked to move into the new location on Jalan Gunung Sahari 7A, Gunung Sahari Utara Urban Village.

“This demolition is conducted in line with the government’s efforts to normalize and revitalize Ciliwung River,” explained Sitorus.
