Dry Season, Plants in Parks in Central Jakarta Dying

Dry season happens this year has made the plants and grass in the parks in Central Jakarta dying. As seen at H Agus Salim Park and an interactive park on Jalan Sukabumi, Menteng, not only the trees and grass are dying, a number of park facilities are also damaged and stolen. Unfortunately, until now there is no action done by related unit to resolve the problem.

Head of Central Jakarta Parks Sub-Department said his department still watering the plants (in the parks). However, plant’s need for water during dry season and rainy season is different

When beritajakarta.com tried to contact Head of Central Jakarta Parks Sub-Department, Jansen Saragih, the official was hard to be reached.

Responding on this matter, Central Jakarta Assistant for Development and Environment, Eldi Andi, regretted the attitude of Head of Central Jakarta Parks Sub-Department, Jansen Saragih, who seems to be neglected this matter.

Dry Season, Parks in West Jakarta Damaged

“Indeed, this is dry season. Head of Central Jakarta Parks Sub-Department said his department still watering the plants (in the parks). However, plant’s need for water during dry season and rainy season is different. He (Saragih) supposed to have strategy to do maintenance in this dry season,” stated Andi, Wednesday (10/22).

Thus, Andi asserted that he will urge Central Jakarta Parks Sub-Department to optimize watering and maintaining plants and parks so they would not dead nor damaged. In addition, he also plans to summon Jansen Saragih in the near future to be asked for confirmation regarding damaged parks in Central Jakarta.
