West Jakarta Gets 93 New Medical Officers

To optimize healthcare services in the municipality, West Jakarta Health Sub-Department gets an additional of 93 new medical officers who consist of doctors, midwives, nurses, and pharmacist assistants. From that amount, 58 of them are doctors.

Additionally, they must also be ready to face the risks while on duty, such as dealing with infectious diseases and ready to serve people in any situation like rain and flooding

Head of West Jakarta Health Sub-Department, Widyastuti, said those 58 doctors have been placed in eight sub-districts, namely Kembangan (8 doctors), Kebon Jeruk (7 doctors), Palmerah (6 doctors), Tambora (7 doctors), Taman Sari (8 doctors), Grogol Petamburan (7 doctors), Cengkareng (8 doctors), and Kalideres (7 doctors).

“In total there are 58 doctors assigned in West Jakarta. Whether they would be placed in sub-district or urban village community health center (puskesmas), that depends on the policy of sub-district community health center heads,” she stated, Wednesday (10/22).

According to Widyastuti, those doctors are civil servant candidates (CPNS) who passed the selection tests held at the beginning of last year.

“Besides Jakarta, they are from other areas such as West Java, Central Java, and Sumatera,” she told.

With this additional medical officers, Widyastuti hopes it would improve the quality of public healthcare services. Thus, all medical officers are expected to work well in the future without distinguishing the status of residents served.

“Additionally, they must also be ready to face the risks while on duty, such as dealing with infectious diseases and ready to serve people in any situation like rain and flooding,” she asserted.
