But, the former regent of East Belitung does not know when the plan would be realized.
Becomes Governor, Basuki Prefers to Stay in His Private Home“One thing for sure is that besides for tourism purposes, the official residence of Jakarta Governor will also be used to welcome official guests and organize gubernatorial events,” he stated.
According to Basuki, he was inspired to make the official residence of Jakarta Governor as a tourism destination and open it for public when he still served as East Belitung Regent.
“The same happened when I served as Regent (of East Belitung). We opened it (governor’s official residence) for public. Thus, residents and tourists can go inside the house and see what the governor’s room looks like. The same thing can also be applied here in Jakarta,” he uttered.
