750 Janitors Keep the Cleanliness of Jakarta Marathon

A total of 750 janitors deployed to keep the routes that was used as race tracks of Mandiri Jakarta Marathon 2014. Hundreds of personnel tasked with cleaning up before and after the course of the international race arena.

Head of Jakarta Cleanliness Department, Saptastri Ediningtyas Kusumadewi, said as many as 750 officers would clear the way in the three regions; Central Jakarta, South Jakarta and West Jakarta.

It also has set up standard operating procedures (SOP) to clear the way before and after the Jakarta Marathon 2014.

"At 12 AM on Sunday the personnel cleaned the entire route. At 3 AM the entire route targeted have been sterilized from trash. Me and the team held a check directly. Furthermore, at 9 AM after the Jakarta Marathon ends, personnel cleaned up the route after the race," she said in a press release received by beritajakarta.com, Sunday (26/10).

In fact, Ediningtyas added, since a few days ago, his party had started to clear up a number of river along the Jakarta Marathon route.

In addition to deploy street sweepers, the department also deployed cleanup vehicles to support operations in Jakarta Marathon 2014 route.

"The equipment we have prepared were five street sweepers, 7 garbage trucks, 26 deer cross hygiene inspectors, 14 mobile toilets, 4 water tank, 3 feces trucks, 100 wheel-garbage cans, 1,000 trash bags, and 750 broom stick," she detailed.
