47 Countries Scramble for Rp 2.4 Billion in Jakarta Marathon

The international Jakarta Marathon event will be held on Sunday (10/26). As much as 14,120 participants of national and international from 47 countries will compete to get total prize Rp 2.4 billion.

Head of Jakarta Sports and Youth Department (Disorda), Ratiyono, said the competition format is still the same with previous year. Jakarta Marathon is divided into five categories namely full marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, and maratoonz.

7 Entertainment Stages to Enliven Jakarta AnniversaryRatiyono explained the full marathon category is participated by 2,150 runners, half marathon 3,425 runners, 10K 5,125 runners, 5K 2,950 runners, and maratoonz 470 runners.
"Track lenght for full marathon is 42,195 km and half marathon 21 km," he added.
Total athletes from 47 countries are 976 participants. The countries are Japan, Malaysia, Australia, Kenya, United Kingdom, United States, India, Philippine, Singapore, France, Dutch, Germany, China, Brunei, New Zealand, Canada, North Korea, Hongkong, Norway, South Africa, Italy, and Thailand.
Others are Belgium, Ethiopia, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Brazil, Czech, Ireland, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Mexico, Russia, Argentina, Austria, Bangladesh, Colombia, Mongolia, Switzerland, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
Meanwhile, there are 5 national elite runners who already signed up. They are Agus Prayoga, Hendro, Atjong Tio, Mery Paijo, and Erni Ulatningsih. The international elite runners are Philemon Kipchilat, Hillary Khipchirchir Kimaiyo, and etc.
The event route is started from Silang Monas Barat Daya - Jalan Budi Kemuliaan - Jalan Abdul Muis - Jalan Majapahit - Jalan Gajah Mada - Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan - Jalan Kunir - Jalan Lada Dalam - Jalan Hayam Wuruk - Jalan Juanda - Jalan Pos - Istiqlal Mosque - Jalan Veteran - Jalan medan Merdeka Barat - Jalan MH Thamrin - Jalan Imam Bonjol - Jalan Rasuna Said - Jalan Gatot Subroto - Jalan Gerbang Pemuda - Jalan Asia Afrika - Plaza Senayan - Jalan Hang Tuah - Jalan Sisingamaraja - Jalan Sudirman - Jalan MH Thamrin - Silang Barat Daya.
