To create a beautiful environment, the West Jakarta Parks
Sub-Department began to improve some parks in West Jakarta. One of them is on Jalan
Tubagus Angke, Jelambar Baru Urban Village, Petamburan Grogol Sub-District,
West Jakarta. As planned, the park will be used as a planter box, thus plants
can survive when being inundated.
The park construction alongside Jalan Tubagus Angke or precisely in central park will use planter box due to it is prone to flooding
According to Djauhari Arifin, Head of West Jakarta Parks
Sub-Department, the planter box would be used in the central part of the park's
road. It is done because of Jalan Tubagus Angke is one of the flood-prone areas
during rainy season. By doing so, the plant is hoped not washed away.
"The park construction alongside Jalan Tubagus Angke or
precisely in central park will use planter box due to it is prone to flooding," he explained, Monday
(10/27).
He stated the park will be built along one kilometer from
the border Grogol Petamburan and Tambora Sub-District until Genit Bridge. In
addition, another park is also under construction on the side of the Tubagus
Angke River. Later on, a sidewalk is planned to be built on the right side of
the park for pedestrians and will be installed with 90 street lights.
Arifin added that project fund is Rp 2 billion. Thus far, it
has entered several stages, ranging from soil dredging, planter box
construction, and light poles installation. As for the type of trees that will
be planted are Japan's palm (28 trees), Sadeng palm (13 trees), bismarkia palm
(5 trees), and banyan (6 trees).
"We also plan to build the sidewalk and palm trees on
the right side of the park," he finished.
