MURI Founder Jaya Suprana positively welcomed the city administration, which held an online campaign with the largest audience involving various regional officials, private universities, community organizations, the private sector, as well as institutions that observe women and children.

"Hopefully this is a supporting factor in controlling efforts to overcome violence against women and children in Jakarta. We congratulate the governor on the achievement of this initiative and work," he expressed, Thursday (12/10).

Jakarta TP PKK Chairwoman Ferry Farhati expressed her appreciation to all resource persons who had shared knowledge on a series of campaign activities and also to residents who had contributed in the campaign.

Similar statement also addressed to the Jakarta Child Protection and Empowerment and Population Control (PPAPP) Agency and its ranks, PKK cadres and Dasa Wisma cadres, including RPTRA caretakers who were passionately involved in making the campaign a success.

"Hopefully our effort to prevent violence to protect women and children can be a field of reward for all of us in the success of this campaign. It doesn't stop at 16 days, but we'll continue these prevention efforts by involving many collaborating parties," she explained.

By so, she explained everyone was reminded of the important role of community members, especially families in preventing violence against women and children. The family as the smallest unit in society had an important role in caring for and educating children.

"I invite parents to break the chain of violence and continue to strive to be parents who always support their children physically and psychologically," she told.

She also encouraged the community to use various sources of information that help Jakartans deal with problems of violence by providing information about the places and channels for complaints that were already available.

"We also have an important role to play in setting an example for our children and providing protection for those in need, as well as teaching our children to face violent situations by speaking up and reporting to the authorities," she told.

Jakarta for Population and Settlement Control Deputy Governor Suharti welcomed and appreciated the series of campaign activities.

Various programs were held for the breeding and protection of women, children and disabilities, which are one of the main development programs in Jakarta in accordance with the medium-term development plan.

Gender and children's mainstreaming through comprehensive policies continued to be done by prioritizing the participation process.

"Women need to continue to get the same rights as men, not only in the development role but receiving benefits from the results of development that are done together. Breeding women and equality in their implementation are very important parts of the main five development principles, namely human development," he explained.

Jakarta PPAPP Agency Head Tuty Kusumawati expressed, it was not only her agency duty, but also various parties and all elements of society.

"Don't be afraid to talk, don't be silent, report it, protect the women and children around us from all acts of violence as violence against women and children is a form of human rights violations," she stated.
