Dishub Holds Ramp Check for AKAP Buses in Four Terminals

In order to provide security and comfort for travelers during Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays, Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) conducted ramp check for Intercity Interprovincial (AKAP) buses.

Dishub's Road Transport Terminal Management Unit (UP TAJ) Administration Sub-division Acting head, Krishnanda Pasha stated, ramp check was carried out at four bus terminals which designated for Nataru homecoming service.

Personnel from Pulo Gadung Motor Vehicle Testing Unit (UP PKB), Ujung Menteng, Cilincing, Kedaung Angke, and Jagakarsa will place the examiners to Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Pulogebang Integrated Terminal, Kalideres Terminal, and Tanjung Priok Terminal.

"We ensure bus roadworthiness by checking condition of bus wipers, tires, lights, and mirrors. If all in great condition, it passes the test and obtained a sticker. But if it is not roadworthy, it is not allowed to operate. AKAP bus company must provide other bus to replace it or repair it first," he explained, Friday (12/18).

Vehicle administration documents will also be checked routinely at terminal checkpoint through collaboration with Dishub and police.

Dishub UP TAJ and UP TTPG cooperate with Health Agency and Jakarta BNNP to check bus drivers and crews health, including to conduct urine test. Jasa raharja officers also assisted in health checking.

"Everything should be checked. We will not allow bus to depart if the bus, driver, and crews haven't meet the safety and operational feasibility standards," he conveyed.

According to him, strict health protocols should be also implemented in terminal, namely carrying out routine disinfectant spraying, providing hand washing facilities and hand sanitizer at strategic points, and intensifying socialization around terminal by installing banners and appeals at loudspeakers regularly.

"Every bus companies (PO) in terminal is obliged to provide hand sanitizer. Besides, bus should be sterilized with disinfectant before operating or departing from pool and after operating," he informed.

His side also collaborated with Satpol PP and TNI/Police in conducting health protocols monitoring at the terminal according to the applicable regulations.
