East Jakarta KPKP Vaccinates 10,557 Animals

From January to November 2020, East Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency has vaccinated 10,557 animals that are potential to transmit rabies disease.

We have given rabies vaccination to 10,557 animals throughout East Jakarta

East Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency's Animals Husbandry and Animals Health Section Head, Irma Budiany targeted to give vaccine to 7,000 animals this year. Until this day, her side has exceeded the target by giving vaccine to 10,557 animals.

"We have given rabies vaccination to 10,557 animals throughout East Jakarta," she conveyed, Friday (12/18).

Until December 12, Thousand Island KPKP Has Given Rabies Vaccination to 1,509 Animals

In details, rabies vaccination had been given to 1,790 dogs; 8,673 cats; 20 monkeys; and 74 ferrets. Rabies vaccination was carried out to maintain Jakarta, especially East Jakarta as a free-rabies region.

Moreover, rabies vaccination aimed to protect people from the dangers of strategic infectious animal diseases (zoonosis). In order to maintain Jakarta free from rabies, her side provided vaccination to animals that have potential to transmit rabies such as dogs, cats, monkeys, and ferrets.

"Besides, we also offer spaying and neutering services to domestic cat owners and control stray animals," she said.
