January-December, 3,732 Traffic Violators Netted in East Jakarta

In January to December 2020, East Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency (Sudinhub) has netted 3,732 vehicles violating traffic.

It was carried out during Lintas Jaya Operation which also involving TNI and Police officers

East Jakarta Sudinhub Monitoring and Controlling Section Head, Riky Erwinda said, from total 3,732 traffic violators, Sudinhub personnel had ticketed 3,264 violators and stopped the operation of 468 fleets.

"It was carried out during Lintas Jaya Operation which also involving TNI and Police officers," he added, Wednesday (12/30).

Traffic Violations in South Jakarta Decline Significantly

According to him, there were 17 types of traffic violations committed by those road users, where they didn't have driver's license (SIM), vehicle didn't meet the technical requirements on the road such as not having mirror, bare tires, lights of and no horn.

Next, vehicle didn't roadworthy, violated road markings, was not equipped with vehicle certificate, driver didn't wear safety belt, was not equipped with safety triangle (when the vehicle breaks down), and some fleets violated the route and stop at inappropriate places (violating traffic signs).

Some cargo cars were also caught carrying passengers, picked up and dropped off passengers carelessly, loading and unloading goods without any provision of safety requirements, violated the loading procedures, didn't have passing permit, modified vehicles.

Next, personnel also caught public minivan drivers who didn't wear uniform and driver's identification card (KPP), AKAP bus without route board, and vehicles that broke through traffic lights.

East Jakarta Sudinhub personnel also stopped the operation of 50 AKAP buses, 27 bajajs, 71 public minivans, 32 midibuses, and 288 cargo cars such as trucks and pickup trucks.
