MRT Stakes Installed in Blok M

The stakes for Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) construction project starting today, Saturday (11/1), begin to be installed on Jalan Panglima Polim towards Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Blok M, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. So, for those of you road users who plan to pass in that area should be more patient with the traffic congestion occurred. The work is scheduled to complete in mid January 2015.

However, there will be slight traffic engineering and lane reduction due to limited work space in front of Blok M Plaza. We’re apologized to the public for this inconvenience,” stated PT MRT Jakarta Director Dono Boestami, Friday (10/31).

“During the project, the road median will be lined with fences. The first work is drilling for viaduct foundation poles on road median. The foundation poles will be the main structure to sustain MRT overpass lane viaduct as well as part of Blok M Station,” added PT MRT Jakarta Construction Director M Nasyir.

Cemeteries Dept to Utilize MRT Project Soil Excavation

Based on the information received by beritajakarta.com, on November 1-16 there will be preparatory work and fencing in the middle of the road from Jalan Melawai junction until Prosecutor’s Office building, with effect of narrowing lane from Jalan Panglima Polim and Jalan Sisingamangaraja.

On November 17-December 22, the drilling and piling project will be done in front of Blok M Plaza and Martha Tiahahu Park. During the project, there will be narrowing lane from Jalan Sisingamangaraja towards Melawai junction and Jalan Panglima Polim, but the opposite direction is still normal.

The next project on December 1-January 15 is pile cap installation. Because of this work, one out of three lanes in front of Blok M Plaza towards Prosecutor’s Office building will be closed, but the opposite lanes remain the same. Similar thing would also occur to lanes in front of Martha Tiahahu Park towards Melawai junction.

It is planned that Blok M Station would be directly integrated with Blok M Plaza. The station’s height from the road surface is about 5.5 meters and length 175 meters. It takes 15 stakes consist of eight large stakes with a diameter of 2.25 meters and seven small stakes with a diameter of 1 meter. Those stakes will be installed in depth around 45-60 meters below ground.

About the traffic engineering, Deputy Chief of Traffic Guard and Arrangement Unit for City Police Traffic Directorate, Comr. Winarno, stressed that his party is ready to help in managing traffic flows.

“Additional personnel and traffic diversion are prepared as anticipation steps to parse severe congestion. The personnel will be added in accordance to the needs and situation in the field,” he said.
