Before donating the plasma, he visited the convalescent plasma donor service at the location. It is to ensure all the donors are optimally facilitated thus blood supply distribution for patients can run efficiently.
"I just finished donate the convalescent plasma. As the COVID-19 survivors, we are grateful that today we can gather with families, even though at the same time our fellows are being treated in hospitals. They can reunite with their families if they recover, and convalescent plasma can help them," he said as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release, on Thursday (1/14).
Jakarta PMI Collaborates with Karang Taruna to Promote Blood DonationHe explained that patients who are still exposed to COVID-19 can be cured through convalescent plasma donor from the survivors. Besides, the plasma donors in Jakarta will be easily facilitated because Jakarta PMI's Blood Transfusion Unit (UTD) has received a mandate as convalescent plasma provider for COVID-19 patients since June 2020.
He also encouraged Jakarta residents with status of COVID-19 survivors to participate as convalescent plasma donors.
"Let us help our fellows to feel what we are feeling right now, when we can reunite with our families. Just for half an hour, you can save people's lives. We call all COVID-19 survivors to be the convalescent plasma donors," he conveyed.
