PAN RB Minister: Basuki is an Example of Leader Who Serves the Citizens

State Apparatus Empowerment and Reforms Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi is determined to omit aristocratic bureaucracy era and replace it with bureaucracy that serves the citizens. This change is in line with mental revolution program initiated by President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo. In doing that, he would make Jakarta as a model for bureaucracy reform for bureaucrats in other regions.

“We’re entering a new era,” said Chrisnandi after meeting with Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, at City Hall, Monday (11/3).

According to Chrisnandi, Basuki is an example for other bureaucrats to go down, not to be served but to give services, not asking to be respected but to respect the citizens.

“Because of that, under Basuki’s leadership, we want to push bureaucracy to be efficient, effective, productive, and the most important thing to serve. I say this is an end for aristocratic bureaucracy which replaced by bureaucracy era that serves the citizens,” he stated.

Chrisnandi also admitted that all this time the citizens have negative assumptions against public services. This is the thing that must be omitted in the future, because it highly affects investment climate.

“The citizens assumed that bureaucracy is less serving, less friendly, kink, and long, thus it makes bad investment climate,” he uttered.

For information, Chrisnandi’s visit to City Hall is to ask for Basuki’s permission to hold unannounced inspection in the environment of Jakarta Provincial Government.

“As the city’s a guide, I need to notify Mr. Basuki that as State Apparatus Empowerment and Reforms Minister, I would conduct unannounced visits to public service units and one-stop integrated service units,” he uttered.
