Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, attended the launching of the Jakarta Bermasker (let's wear masks) movement logo in the Polda Metro Jaya Promoter Building Hall, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (2/3).
It was attended by Pangdam Jaya Commander Maj. Gen. Dudung Abdurachman and his staff, representatives of the Jakarta Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI), as well as representatives of Jakarta Cathedral Church administrators.

"Allow me to express appreciation and gratitude to Polda Metro for the initiative, and this is an effort that must be done. Considering since the beginning of last year we have all been battling this epidemic," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

He also reminded that there are ways to be effective in its use. "Many of us already have a mask but haven't used it well, like being propped up on the chin. So don't just wear a mask as an ornament, but it is an instrument to curb the COVID-19
," he asserted.Polda Metro Jaya Chief Ir. Gen. Muhammad Fadil Imran explained, the aim of the logo launching was to re-invite all people to be aware and proactive in wearing masks. Together with Kodam Jaya and Jakarta administration, as well as other stakeholders, he was committed to create a healthy Jakarta, which was free from COVID-19.
"Our target of this launching is crowded locations, accompanied by the distribution of masks by reaching the smallest community in the midst of society. With public participation, we hope it can increase our awareness of wearing masks, which in turn has a significant effect on reducing the case," he expressed.
As for the information, the packaging for the new Jakarta Masker logo has a distinctive Betawi culture design. By so, 100,000 masks will be distributed every day to the public.
