Ariza Encourages COVID-19 Survivors to Take a Part in Convalescent Plasma Donor

Jakarta Vice Governor, Ahmad Riza Patria (Ariza) succeeded in conducting convalescent plasma donor at PMI Jakarta, Central Jakarta, on Friday (2/5). This is the fourth time he has tried donor because he didn't pass health screening before.

On that occasion, he encourage COVID-19 survivors to coordinate with PMI Jakarta thus more survivors can take a part in convalescent plasma donor.
"Today I encourage Jakarta residents who have recovered (from COVID-19) to coordinate with PMI Jakarta to do convalescent plasma donor. Because many people need it. We can help those who are exposed to COVID-19," he conveyed, as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.
Vice Governor Ariza Supports Convalescent Plasma DonorsHe stated that the need for convalescent plasma for COVID-19 patients is still high. "The data shows that in this week, 21,454 people have recovered. Ideally, 30 percent can carry out convalescent plasma donor. In fact, only 783 donors in January and 92 donors in February. From total 5,000 applicants, only 1,500 people passed," he said.
He reminded the conditions that must be met for prospective donors, especially their health condition before donor. "Even though we have good intention to come here, but we need to meet the requirements related to health, blood pressure, white blood cells, etc. We expect COVID-19 patients who have recovered can donor their convalescent plasma. Hopefully they can meet the requirements and their donors are successful," he mentioned.
For information, here are special requirements to be convalescent plasma donors:
a) Have been diagnosed with COVID-19 (positive result from PCR swab test/antigen swab test)
b) Have been free of COVID-19 symptoms (fever/cough/shortness of breath/diarrhea) for at least 14 days
c) Age 18-60 years old
d) Recommended for men, as well as women who haven't pregnant
e) Have minimum weight of 55 kilograms
f) Don't have serious diseases (kidney failure, heart failure, cancer, diabetes, uncontrolled high blood pressure)
