Central Jakarta is Committed to Preventing Stunting

It aims to find out the number of cases and health services, as well as cross-sectorial services

The Central Jakarta administration has prepared a number of action plans to preventing stunting.

Central Jakarta Planning and Urban Development Sub-agency Head, Tulus Ludiyo Setiawan said, zone mapping is the first of eight stages of action in a bid to intervene to accelerate the reduction of stunting problems.

"It aims to find out the number of cases and health services, as well as cross-sectorial services," he expressed, Friday (2/19).

He explained improving services to suppress stunting rates included nutrition counseling services, hygiene, parenting, sanitation and clean water, as well as social protection and food security.

"We're committed to completing eight action plans to speed up the prevention and handling of stunting in this year," he explained.

In the meantime, Central Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Erizon added stunting handling through cross-sectoral was conducted with specific and sensitive interventions.

"Specific interventions that will be done are provision of blood booster supplements, education about healthy and highly nutritious foods, health screening, and posyandu services. While sensitive interventions are related to improving environmental sanitation and improving the community's socio-economy," he stated.
