45,546 Elderly People Have Received First Dose of COVID-19 Vaccine

Total 45,546 elderly residents in Jakarta have been injected with first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on January 10-March 2 period. It has reached five percent of total vaccination target of 911,631 people.

Elderly who want to get COVID-19 vaccination can fill out registration form via dki.kemkes.go.id

Jakarta Health Agency Head, Widyastuti conveyed, until today there were 2,010 elderly people who have been postponed for vaccination. While there were 231 elderly people who couldn't or canceled to be vaccinated.

"From health screening carried out by health workers, some elderly patients are not possible to be vaccinated because of comorbidity," she asserted, Wednesday (3/3).

She explained, COVID-19 Vaccination Phase 2 program for elderly group is still ongoing in five cities and regency. Vaccination is carried out in health service facilities such as health centers (puskesmas) at urban village and sub-district levels, and hospitals (RSUD).

"Elderly who want to get COVID-19 vaccination can fill out registration form via dki.kemkes.go.id," she added.

After registering, elderly are expected to wait for notification messages from health center/RSUD regarding vaccination location and schedule before visiting health facilities to avoid crowds.

Elderly who will be vaccinated must be in good health (not cough/cold/fever/shortness of breath) in the last seven days. While 3 months for COVID-19 survivors and not currently suffering from heart disease/liver disease/chronic kidney disease/undergoing dialysis procedures.

"They are also not in process of treating cancer/blood clotting disorders/immune deficiency/being transfused, have condition/history of epilepsy/diabetes mellitus/HIV/lung disease (asthma, COPD) in controlled conditions, and not receiving another vaccine less than a month," she mentioned.
