Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, took the time to survey the COVID-19 vaccination process for elderly residents located in Istora Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday (3/8). He came along with BUMN Ministry, Erick Thohir; Health Ministry, Budi Gunadi Sadikin; and Jakarta Health Agency Head, Widyastuti.

We are very supportive and we collaborate together

The governor revealed that its process should be accelerated thus the city welcomed the synergy that built between the regional and central government. Thus residents in the capital, especially the elderly, could be facilitated in getting their right to get vaccine.

"We are very supportive and we collaborate together. I hope they (residents) to start preparing for vaccinations. I hope it becomes a model that can be done in other places," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

In Two Weeks, Central Jakarta has Vaccinated 12 Thousand Elderly People

Lusia Agustina, a resident who also served as a teacher of SDN Ragunan 14 Pagi, Pasar Minggu, had the opportunity to accompany her husband and positively welcomed the vaccination. She mentioned, it was the moment she had been waiting for. Hopefully it could be evenly distributed to all levels of society.

"I really appreciate this moment. I'm accompanying my husband (who is a retired teacher), and I'm still waiting for my turn. Alhamdulillah the service is very good, I hope the government can facilitate all people to be vaccinated," she expressed.

Responding on this matter, the governor explained, the vaccination for teachers had also been ongoing since two weeks ago.

"Do not worry, your turn (Agustina) will come soon. So you can teach in peace and be protected from the disease," he added.

BUMN Ministry Erick Thohir, revealed that he was assigned to strengthen collaboration between the city and the ministry. Moreover he was also targeting to provide 5,000 vaccines per day and would be distributed for four months ahead.

"In Jakarta, the process goes according to plan and will be developed in other regions. We'll see how it goes over the course of a week or two. If it runs well, we will touch other cities. This is indeed the intention of helping the government's program to accelerate vaccination," he exclaimed.

As for the information, during vaccine monitoring, the governor along with the ministries saw the activities of the organizers, starting from the registration desk, the location for the health screening of vaccine recipients, to the part of the location that is closed as the elderly need extra maximum services.
