Fire in Cilincing Killed a Little Girl

Hundreds of homes located at RT 14/06, Sukapura, Cilincing, were destroyed by fire on  Saturday (11/8) night. Ironically, a little girl, Nurul Aini (6) died after all over her body burned at the scene.

Allegedly, the fire is triggered by electricity short-circuit. We successfully put out the flames at around 11.30 PM

Based on information gathered, fire that broke out around 9.30 AM came out from one of homes, and then quickly spread to next home. At that time, Nurul Aini from Suherni and Wati couple, was sleeping alone at home because her mother was going to the market and his father at work.

Sugimin, a citizen of RT 14/06, Sukapura expressed after seeing the flames, locals were immediately trying to put out the flames using available tool. "Fire quickly grew up due to most homes are made from triplex," he expressed, Sunday (11/9).

4 Rented Houses in Ragunan Burnt

Head of North Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department, Frans Hodden Silalahi disclosed 17 fire trucks immediately deployed to the scene and managed to control situation within two hours.

"Allegedly, the fire is triggered by electricity short-circuit. We successfully put out the flames at around 11.30 PM," he told.

He added, the dead victim has been brought to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital for an autopsy.

Chief of Cilincing Sector Police, Sr. Comr. Edi Purnawan police are still finding out the cause of the fire.

"Temporary allegation, the cause of the fire is electricity short-circuit," he stated.
