Japanese Village Construction in Untung Jawa Island Begins

Thousand Islands Regent, Junaedi carried out groundbreaking of Kampung Jepang (Japanese Village) tourist attraction in Sakura Beach, Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands Sub-district.

The Japanese Village will be built on an area of 4 thousand square meters on Sakura Beach

Thousand Islands Regent, Junaedi stated, Japanese Village tourist attraction was realized through collaboration between PT. Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ) and PT. Pertamina Patra Niaga through corporate social responsibility (CSR).

"The Japanese Village will be built on an area of 4 thousand square meters on Sakura Beach which planted with at least 54 sakura trees," he said, Wednesday (3/10).

By developing Thousand Islands' potentials as the National tourism Sector Area (KSPN), it could also support the national tourism sector.

"By building Japanese Village on Sakura Beach, hopefully it can develop tourism sector and people's economy thus they can be prosperous," he asserted.

Meanwhile, PT. PHE ONWJ's Environmental Function Recovery Project Manager, Muhammad Abdurrafiq was delighted to collaborate with Thousand Islands Regency in building the iconic tourist destination, Japanese Village, on Untung Jawa Island.

"Construction project will start by building gazebo and connecting bridge between beach and tourist site which installed with Japanese-style kiosks. We target it to finish no later than 12 weeks," he mentioned.
