Rawa Kepa Connecting River Being Dredged for Maximum Water Capacity

At least 20 personnel of the Grogol Petamburan Sub-district Executing Unit, West Jakarta have started dredging the Rawa Kepa Connecting River, Tomang Urban Village.

Grogol Petamburan Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit Head, Agus said, despite it was not prone to flooding, the dredging was still being run to increase water capacity. During three weeks of work, at least 50 cubic meters of mud had been successfully transported from the river.

"The south side of this connecting river leads to the Rawa Kepa Reservoir and the northern side leads to the Kyai Tapa I and II Stationary Pumps," he said.
"It is also conducted to smoothen water flow especially during rainy season. We do it manually using hoes, crowbars, shells and sacks," he stated.
