Kali Gongseng River Bridge in Cijantung Being Repaired

They (residents) want us to elevate the bridge to 70 centimeters height

Residents of Cijantung Urban Village, Pasar Rebo have complained about piles of garbage due to the low position of the Kali Gongseng River Bridge in the border area of RW 06 and 07. As a result, the river water often overflowed into their settlements, especially when it rained.

East Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency's Road and Bridge Division Head, Ilham Raya said, to follow up the complaint, a number of personnel had been sent to repair the bridge along eight meters with 3.5 meters width.

"They (residents) want us to elevate the bridge to 70 centimeters height," he expressed, Wednesday (3/17).

He continued the repair also conducted by replacing the bridge construction from concrete with iron. The work process had been ongoing since a week ago and was targeted to be complete in a month.

"Access roads to locations that are narrow and winding make it difficult for officers to transport concrete," he expressed.

Cijantung Urban Village Head, Haerudin added residents proposed the repairs through the 2019 musrenbang and had only been realized this year.

"We appreciate them (Bina Marga Sub-agency) for following up on this proposal," he said.
