Progress of Belibis Retention Basin Construction has Reached 70 Percent

Belibis Retention Basin (Embung) construction progress now has reached 70 percent. It is located behind Lokbin Semper Public Housing, RW 04, Semper Barat Urban Village, Cilincing, North Jakarta. This retention basin is expected to control flood in the area.

Cilincing Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Unit Head, Tjahyono Budi Setiawan mentioned, this construction work has
been carried out since October 24, 2020 and is targeted to be completed in April 2021."Current progress has reached 70 percent. But it is hampered due to pipeline owned by Pertamina. We continue to communicate and coordinate with Pertamina to find the solution," he said, Thursday (3/25).
Pesakih Public Housing Retention Basin Construction is Almost CompletedFor the construction, his side collaborates with number of CSR companies, namely PT. Kawasan Berikat Nusantara (Persero), PT. Justus Sakti Raya, PT. Komatsu Indonesia, and PT. Superkrane Mitra Utama Tbk. Belibis Retention Basin is built on an area of 3.8 hectares which connected to Gubuk Genteng River and Sepatan River that leads to Cakung Drain.
"Dam width is 5 meters with depth 1.5 meters. While retention basin's depth is about 6 meters," he explained.
His side operated several heavy equipment to dredge mud, tidy up retention basin, and build dam.
"We deploy 2 amphibious units, 3 excavator units belonging to SDA, and 1 excavator unit belonging to private companies. We also deploy 2 operators from private companies and 10 Cilincing SDA Unit personnel," he informed.
Belibis Retention Basin is built to overcome flood and expected to hold more water in the surrounding area. It is also planned to be ecotourism area as citizen interaction place.
"According to plan, we will also build jogging track, culinary area, and green open space (RTH) in this location," he stated.
