City Collaborates with YPO to Launch Kampung Asuh Program

Jakarta Government is consistent with its commitment to involve citizens as co-creator in building Jakarta into a developed, sustainable, and cultured city. Its involvement is reflected in collaboration with Indonesian Young Presidents Organization (YPO) to launch Kampung Asuh (Foster Village) program in Kampung Tanah Merah, which located in Rawa Badak Selatan Urban Village, Tugu Selatan Urban Village, and Kelapa Gading Urban Village, North Jakarta.

Kampung Asuh is a program to improve quality of residential areas with collaborative scheme. Through this program, residents can jointly improve their life quality, interaction, and emotional bonds. This program aims to make village a decent and sustainable place to live in form of physical, economic, and social aspects. Thus it can manifest unity and integrity in capital city.

City to Bear the Impact of Fire in Matraman, Anies Says

In the Kick-Off event of Kampung Asuh Program which held at Pola Room, Jakarta City Hall, on Thursday (3/25), Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan expressed his appreciation to all who support this program. He hopes Kampung Asuh can be expanded to other villages in Jakarta, thus all villages in Jakarta can gain benefits from this program.

"We must be grateful to witness a new chapter, where we work together mutually to solve challenges in Jakarta through collaborative approach. I hope we can support this great program and expand it," he stated as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

Furthermore, he also expected Kampung Asuh program to build interaction that is not only programmatic, but also emotional between villagers who are assisted with those who are helping. "It is hoped to create a sense that one city is one family and encourage unity in Jakarta," he added.

Supports that can be provided in implementing Kampung Asuh program can be in form of education, infrastructure, social and cultural, and/or community economic empowerment. "Kampung Asuh has many aspects to be worked on, not only hard infrastructure but also soft infrastructure, such as education," he mentioned.

For initial stage, supports are given in form of infrastructure, namely:

a. 5 units computer, 3 units printer, 5 units UPS, 2 units stabilizer with 5,000 watts/unit, 1 unit clean water Reverse Osmosis (RO) system, 1 unit drinking water dispenser (hot and cold), stationery and vitamins for students and teachers, 1 unit projector + screen + tripod for PKBM Himmata School.

b. 1 unit all-in-one Asus PC + 1 unit epson L3110 printer + 1 unit UPS for each RW 08, 09, 10, 11 Rawa Badak Selatan Urban Village, RW 07 Tugu Selatan Urban Village, and RW 22 Kelapa Gading Barat Urban Village.

c. 1 unit computer + 1 unit UPS for PAUD (early childhood education) at RW 22 Kelapa Gading Barat Urban Village.
