We are very serious in transportation problems, why? Because mass public transportation is not well systemized
One of the collaboration purposes was as a place for the UNUSIA/UNU Jogjakarta campus application to serve the community, while for Transjakarta was to get suggestions regarding development strategies thus transportation facilities have the feel of a place of worship that is friendly to passengers.
The governor was very enthusiastic considering the congestion problem in Jakarta should be resolved in collaboration with various parties, such as what was done by Transjakarta and UNUSIA/UNU Jogjakarta.
Governor Anies Hopes DMI Pushes More Green Mosques in Jakarta"We are very serious in transportation problems, why? Because mass public transportation is not well systemized. Indeed, we have public transportation but they run independently, and we found the keyword of the problem, namely integrated," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.
He went on to say that integration made the transportation systems in Jakarta more connected to one another. It can be seen from the continuity between the routes, the ticketing system, and the synchronization of mode management which is currently under the auspices of Jak Lingko. He also explained, the challenge for Jakarta had been the problem of office hours for passengers, which is related to clashes between work and prayer times.
"Herein we see hundreds of thousands of people have complaints, 'Where we do Maghrib prayer?'. Mostly waiting to finish entering Maghrib, pray, go home or on the way. Our breakthrough is we will facilitate them with musala designs inside the bus stop and the station," he added.
He hoped that the cooperation could discuss to find the best solution in realizing integrated and friendly public facilities for worship.
"Afterwards, it is hoped that there will be a study on how we encourage more people to use public transportation. We're also about to have musala in bus stops that will be designed by the UNUSIA," he added.
As for the information, the MoU signing was attended by Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) Chair, Said Aqil Siradj and his ranks; UNUSIA Rector, Maksoem Machfudz; UNU Jogjakarta Rector, Purwo Santoso; MPR Vice Chairman, Jazilul Fawaid; as well as PT Transjakarta's Service and Development Director, Ahmad Izzul Wara.
