East Jakarta Gulkarmat Carries Out Fire Socialization in 1,568 Locations

In January-March period, East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency has carried out fire socialization to residents in 1,568 locations.

We use door-to-door method

East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency Head, Muchtar Zakaria said, socialization was carried out using loudspeakers by encouraging residents to comply with health protocols.

"We use door-to-door method where our personnel socialize it using loud speakers in worship places and schools located in settlement area. Some of them socialize it to residents using operational cars," he explained, Monday (4/5).

According to him, loud speakers are often used in socialization to avoid crowds thus COVID-19 transmission can be prevented.

East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency's Prevention Section Head, Edi Parwoko conveyed, besides loudspeakers, his side also installed stickers or pamphlets to appeal residents to remain vigilant of fire.

"We put stickers in information boards located in worship places, RW post and places that are easily seen by many people," he stated.

In three months (January-March), his side has conducted socialization in 202 worship places, 1,322 collector road points, and 34 educational institution locations.

Several locations used for socialization are Jalan Bunga Belakang 1 Palmeriam, Matraman, then Al Aslah Mosque, Jalan Balai Pustaka Rawamangun, Al Hidayah Musala RT 02/07 Jatinegara Urban Village, Cakung and others.

"In 3 months, we have deployed 135 operational cars, 433 operational motorbikes, and 1,045 personnel," he informed.
