Anies Ensures Equitable Collaboration for Farmers and Jakarta Residents

PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya conducted Panen Bersama (joint harvest) program on a 50-hectares land in Cilacap Regency, Central Java, which aims to ensure food supplies are maintained during the month of Ramadan and welcome Eid ul Fitr.

It is realized in cooperation between the Sumber Makmur Farmer Groups Association (Gapoktan), Desa Jenang, Majenang Sub-district, Cilacap Regency with Food Station Tjipinang, on Friday (4/16). It was also attended by Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan; ranks of PT Food Station Tjipinang and Sumber Makmur Gapoktan; Cilacap Regent, Tatto Suwarto Pamuji; and ranks of local Forkopimda.

On that occasion, the Governor revealed that Jakarta is very grateful because it is helped by the collaboration between regions to ensure food security in the capital was maintained.

"In Jakarta, 99 percent of food needs are supplied from outside and we have a very high dependence and Jakarta is grateful to be able to work together with Cilacap to prepare food security for residents in the capital," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

He assured that it is the principle of mutual benefit that made economic movements in the capital also felt in the regions. It is able to stabilize the price and prosper farmers in the region, including the quantity and quality of its products.

"By so, we hope the movement of the economy in Jakarta can be felt as a benefit in various regions, one of which is the rice harvest to meet the needs of residents. At the ending, we hope there is a social justice, which is to make the residents have affordable rice prices, and most importantly the farmers in Cilacap feel an increase in welfare," he explained.

He also instructed his ranks to develop collaboration in other aspects, especially that mutual cooperation is part of the nation's tradition, one of which could be formulated into inter-regional cooperation.

"InsyaAllah we can expand the collaboration in other aspects, as we all realize that togetherness, mutual cooperation is the nature of our nation. Now we define it in intergovernmental and inter-community work," he added.

As for the information, the collaboration between Food Station and Sumber Makmur Cilacap Gapoktan is a form of collaboration initiated in 2018 with a rice field area of 250 hectares; in 2019 it increased to an area of 500 hectares; in 2020 an area of 850 hectares; and the target of regional cooperation in 2021 covering an area of 1,000 hectares. With an average productivity of 5.7 tons/hectare and a potential yield of 5,700 tons of harvested dry grain harvest (GKP) or 2,964 tons of rice with the Ciherang, Metik Wangi, and Muncul varieties.

The assistance provided by the Food Station to Gapoktan Sumber Makmur is related to providing assistance in selecting varieties; provide assistance in post-harvest; Food Station as an off taker provides a price guarantee; Cut the chain of purchasing GKP from farmers, thus farmers can stay prosperous; and they may use this collaboration to get financing.
