Jakarta Government through Environment Agency encourages citizens to participate in saving energy and reducing carbon emissions by turning off the lights for one hour tonight.

Jakarta Environment (LH) Agency Acting Head (Plt), Syaripudin mentioned, this energy saving action was carried out based on Jakarta Governor Circular Letter No. 4/SE/2021 about Implementation of Light Blackouts in the Context of Action to Save Energy and Reduce Carbon Emissions.
"It is an effort to overcome the impacts of climate change and to follow up Gubernatorial Instruction No. 14/2021 regarding lights blackouts to save energy and reduce carbon emissions," he said, Saturday (4/24).

Those 7 symbols of Jakarta are Jakarta City Hall Building, Monas, Arjuna Wiwaha Statue and its fountain, Bundaran HI and its fountain, Youth Statue and its fountain, Hero Statue, and General Sudirman Statue.
Furthermore, lights on several locations will be turned off such as on Jl. Raya Letnan Suprapto (Cempaka Putih) and Gunung Sahari in Central Jakarta, Jl. Yos Sudarso and Perintis Kemerdekaan in North Jakarta, Jl. Daan Mogot and Kembangan Raya (in front of West Jakarta Mayor Office), Jl. Prapanca Raya (in front of South Jakarta Mayor Office) and Jl. T.B. Simatupang, as well as Jl. Dr. Sumarno (in front of East Jakarta Mayor Office) and Jl. Raden Inten.
"We also encourage residents to participate to turn off their lights for an hour tonight," he asserted.
