January-April 27, 2,901 Traffic-breaking Vehicles in North Jakarta Netted

The East Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency has noted that as many as 2,901 vehicles have been netted during January to April 27.

To control them, we involve 60 joint personnel of army and police

Supervision and Control Division Head, Riky Erwinda disclosed 952 were ticketed, 504 were stopped its operation, 936 were towed and 22 were flattened. At the same location, 487 public transport vehicles were also netted after carrying passengers more than 50 percent capacity.

"To control them, we involve 60 joint personnel of army and police," he stated, Wednesday (4/28).

Three Months, 1,718 Vehicles in West Jakarta Netted

According to him, those personnel were divided into two zones, namely zona A (Pulogadung, Jatinegara, Matraman, Cakung, Duren Sawit) and zone B (Kramat Jati, Makasar, Cipayung, Ciracas and Pasar Rebo).

As for vehicles towed, he explained, were brought to the Transportation Sub-agency Office and the School Bus Pool in Hek area, Kramat Jati.

He mentioned that vehicles were punished for these 17 types of traffic violations, namely the driver does not have a driver's license (SIM), does not meet the technical requirements, like no mirrors, bare tires, dead lights and no horns.

Then unroadworthy vehicle, violating the road markings, no vehicle certificate, not wear a safety belt, no safety triangle (when the vehicle broke down), violating the route and hanging on forbidden signs.

Other violations were cargo cars carrying passengers, picking up or dropping off passengers carelessly, loading and unloading without the provisions of safety requirements, loading procedures, without a route permit, modifying vehicles.

Then driving without wearing a uniform and a driver's identification card (KPP), without a route board especially for AKAP buses, and running through traffic light.
