COVID Vaccination for Elderly in North Jakarta Reaches 85 Percent

The North Jakarta Health Sub-agency has noted that 85 percent or 86,700 elderly people have been vaccinated against Covid-19.

Vaccination for the elderly is a priority that must be resolved immediately

North Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Yudi Dimyati expressed as many as 102,000 people were targeted to be vaccinated.

"Vaccination for the elderly is a priority that must be resolved immediately. We hope it can be completed after Eid," he expressed, Wednesday (5/5).

Until now, his side was continuously conducting various ways to hit the target.

"One of them is in urban village, where we still do sweeping against elderlies. Those infected with Covid-19 and declared cured three months ago will be called again to be vaccinated, including those who are cancelled due to health factors. Certainly we continue to intensify and accelerate it," he explained.

He added they could be vaccinated, as long as their blood pressure was not above 180 mmHG. Then they did not have comorbids or there were diseases that are indeed in the severe category thus it was physically impossible for them to be vaccinated.

"But if the disease is controlled, they can be vaccinated," he stated.
