Anies Visits Three Markets to Check Food Price and Health Protocol Compliance

In order to ensure markets' readiness ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri, Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan together with BUMD Pasar Jaya ranks and Indonesian Market Traders (APPSI) visited Tanah Abang Market Block A, Central Jakarta, as well as Tomang Barat Market and Cengkareng Jaya Market, West Jakarta on Saturday (5/8).

In his visit in those three markets, Anies emphasized that his side wanted to ensure health protocol was implemented properly, especially in wearing masks both for traders and customers. As well as ensuring food prices were safe ahead of Eid.

"We are monitoring the situation in markets and ensure health protocol are carried out properly. We see that masks are used in orderly manner and thank God it can be said that most of them use masks," he conveyed as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

"We also want to ensure food supply for Jakarta ahead of Eid is safe. From the supply, we have checked the prices on the field. Thank God there are several commodities whose prices are increasing but in general the prices are stable," he added.

He also reminded people who want to go to market to reduce the use of single-use plastic, always wear masks, and avoid crowd.

"If the place is full, then move and find other places that is less crowded. So there is no potential for transmission and God willing, you can celebrate Eid in healthy condition," he mentioned.
