Collapsed Sheet Pile in Batu Ampar will Be Repaired Soon

The East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar, visited the location of the collapsed sheet pile on Jalan Batu Sari I, RW 02 Batu Ampar, Kramat Jati, on Monday (5/10). The collapse occurred after being eroded by water in February and March.

He stated the Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency should repair it as soon as possible in order to anticipate unwanted things. It was also aimed at creating the safety and comfort of local residents.

"We're going to make new sheet piles that are stronger thus locals feel safe and comfortable," he said.

East Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Santo explained the sheet pile had experienced two landslides. The first incident was last February, precisely on the east side of the bridge along 10 meters with 6 meters height.

To anticipate further landslides, his party had installed wooden dolken at the location. Unfortunately another landslide occurred last March on the west side of the bridge along 20 meters with a height of between three to five meters.

"We are currently doing permanent repairs by installing river stones, likening them to the existing sheet pile on the other side," he concluded.
