Starting Tomorrow, 11 TPUs in West Jakarta Closed Temporarily

The West Jakarta Parks and Urban Forest Sub-agency is set to temporarily close all public cemeteries (TPU) in its region from pilgrimage activities from Wednesday (5/12) to Sunday (5/16).

We have already put up a banner at the entrance of the TPU regarding this temporary closure

It is based on the Governor's Call number 5/2021 on Control of Community Activities in Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 during Eid al-Fitr Holidays 1442 Hijri/2021 M.

West Jakarta Parks and Urban Forest Sub-agency Head, Jauhar Arifin said 11 TPUs would be closed. They were Tegal Alur, Utan Jati, Joglo, Kamal, Sukabumi Selatan, Grogol Kemanggisan, Duri Kepa, Basmol, and Al Kamal Kepa Duri, Kapuk, and Semanan.

"We have already put up a banner at the entrance of the TPU regarding this temporary closure. The protection of the TPU during temporary closure involves a three pillar element. We have also coordinated with the urban village to socialize this policy," he expressed, Tuesday (5/11).

He hoped that it could reduce the risk of spreading the spread of COVID-19 in Jakarta area.

"By doing so, the public can understand. During this pandemic, as much as possible avoid crowding," he hoped.

Despite they were closed, he added, the funeral service would remain open and run as usual.
