Around 491 funeral attendants under East Jakarta Parks and Urban Forest Sub-agency have been prepared at public cemeteries (TPU) during Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri holiday, on May 12 to 16. It is done in anticipation of a funeral request from the community.
Forest and Green Belt Division Head, Atang Setiawan said 427 were grave diggers and 64 were security officers. They were alerted to 34 TPUs spread across 10 sub-districts in East Jakarta.

Regarding their work schedule, he said, it is controlled in each task force in 34 cemeteries. However, based on the experience of the previous year, during Eid al-Fitr, there were still people who picket. It was because funeral requests could come at any time, it did not know the time.
"In East Jakarta, the most extensive TPU are in two locations, namely at Pondok Ranggon and Pondok Kelapa," he explained.
According to him, officers had socialized the policy of temporary closure of TPU from community pilgrimage activities, by placing banners announcing the closure on 34 cemeteries.
"Pilgrimage activities can be carried out again on May 17," he stated.
