Museums and Cultural Destinations are Closed

It aims to prevent the new cluster

Jakarta Culture Agency has closed museums and other cultural destinations, starting from Sunday (5/16) to Monday (5/17) tomorrow.

Iwan Henry Wardhana, Agency Head of Jakarta Culture said that it was aimed at anticipating the crowd during the holidays after Eid al-Fitr as happened in several tourist attractions.

"It aims to prevent the new cluster," he expressed, Sunday (5/16).

Nevertheless, he explained, the officers were still on duty according to the existing picket schedule. They were tasked with cleaning and spraying disinfectant before the museum opened.

"After opening, we only received 30 percent of visitors. If there is a crowd, we will divide it by the hour, for example one group must be 10 people and so forth," he explained.

Those museums and cultural destinations closed were Jakarta History Museum, Taman Prasasti Museum, MH Thamrin Museum, Joang 45 Museum, Cipir Island, Kelor Island, Onrust Island.

Then Fine Arts and Ceramics Museum, Textile Museum, Puppet Museum and Maritime Museum.

There were also cultural destinations of Miss Tjitjih, Wayang Orang Bharata (WOB), Art Training Buildings in five city areas, Si Pitung House, TIM, Benyamin Sueb Park, Jakarta Arts Building, Betawi Cultural Village Area, and Condet Cultural Center.
