Increasing Public Access to Kita and Maju Beaches, Anies Issues Pergub No. 30/2021

Jakarta Government through Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan had issued Gubernatorial Regulation (Pergub) No. 30/2021 on Kita Beach and Maju Beach City Planning Guideline. The City Planning Guideline was prepared according to Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 60/2020 on Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Tangerang-Bekasi-Puncak-Cianjur (Jabodetabekpunjur) Spatial Planning.

With providing full connectivity, it is expected that public access to Kita Beach and Maju Beach can increase

"City Planning Guideline (Pergub No. 30/2021) is compiled as the basic guideline for regional development that is oriented to improve the quality of urban space," said Jakarta Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service (PMPTSP) Agency Head, Benni Aguscandra, as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release, on Thursday (5/20).

Gubernatorial Regulation No. 30/2021 has a vision to optimize regional connectivity by providing mass public transportation routes that connect the two coasts with the mainland. Connectivity between public transportation is served by paths for pedestrians, bicycles, and commuter transportation that can reach independent residential clusters that prioritize the pedestrians.

Anies Ensures Kita and Maju Beaches Open for Public

"With providing full connectivity, it is expected that public access to Kita Beach and Maju Beach can increase. Besides, it not only affects the economic, but also as our endeavor to provide third spaces for all," he explained.

This Pergub issuance will further refine Pergub on City Planning Guideline (PRK), namely Pergub No. 153/2018 concerning the management and development of land reclaimed from north coast of Jakarta in which the Pergub explains about contribution land arrangement that will be managed by PT. Jakarta Propertindo covering an area around 208,006 m².

"The land is used for affordable public housing, fish market for fishermen, fish restaurants, boat docks, worship places, government offices, as well as public facilities and supporting social facilities," he mentioned.
