Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan ceremonially opened and inaugurated the declaration of the city's 494th anniversary at the Jakarta City Hall, on Monday (5/24). On that occasion, he explained how Jakarta had gone through a year fighting a pandemic in which all aspects of Jakarta had contracted due to limited interactions.
"Last year we were in a period of relatively new tests and challenges, as this is the first time we are dealing with an epidemic, so last year's theme was Jakarta Tangguh (Jakarta is Tough), which had had a major effect on our economy, social and culture," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

Because, no city in Indonesia has as many resources as Jakarta, such as NGOs, entrepreneurs, observers, analysts, content creators, and international institutions," he explained.
"This is a new mindset in Jakarta, but this is not new for Indonesia, as this nation was built with a spirit of mutual cooperation," he continued.
To enliven the anniversary, the logo chosen has a philosophy that describes the Jakartans' hopes and dreams to rise up. Aside that, there is an element of identity Plus Jakarta that shows Jakarta as a City of Collaboration.
As for the information, the city has opted for a virtual celebration to commemorate the city's anniversary, which will fall on June 22 amid the unceasing Covid-19 pandemic.
The series of events have been started since April in a series of activities entitled 'Berkah Energi Ramadhan' (The Energy Blessing of Ramadan). In addition, the 'Jakpreneur Fest' entitled Get Close to Opportunities is also underway to help MSMEs upgrade, be promoted, and connect as an effort to revive the city's economy.
