Ahok Checks the Readiness of Pump House

Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama did impromptu visit or popularly called as blusukan by checking a Setiabudi Timur Dam's pump house, Manggarai Sluice Gate, South Jakarta and Kampung Pulo's waterway, East Jakarta, Tuesday (11/18). It is done as preparedness for floods in Jakarta.

How the pump performance? If the electricity goes out, is there a generator here?

While riding a black Toyota Innova car B 1124 BH, he arrived at the field at around 8.30 AM. He accompanied by Jakarta officials were welcomed by South Jakarta Mayor, Syamsuddin Noor and pump house operator, Komarudin.

He then immediately get around and review several pump stations. He also checked the CCTV camera system to monitor the movement of the water volume.

On that occasion, he asked about the readiness of the six existing pumps. "How the pump performance? If the electricity goes out, is there a generator here?," asked Ahok to Komarudin.

He stated that all the pump house should be connected to disaster management. Thus if there is any damage or monitoring, the water level can directly be detected.

"Supposedly, all can be connected to disaster management, thus all problems can be known. If flood happens, we may not go to the field, want to ride a helicopter?," he exclaimed.

Komarudin answered that all pumps function properly. At the location, his side has installed a generator as anticipation way. "Yes sir, we already have a generator here. Everything is ready, likewise pumps," he stressed.
